    Hi Legal man,

I am an Indian Citizen, working for an MNC for last 8 years. I have got an opportunity of transfer to South Africa branch of the same company.

If my company applies for ICT, I think my wife (also an Indian citizen) cannot work in SA - Am I correct in this?

If so is there any provision or type of WP (like Critical skill - I am an comp sc. engineer with 10+ years exp), which I can apply which will allow my wife also to work in SA. She is an electronics and telecom engineer, working on software industry for last 6+ years.

If there are no such provisions - then what can I do to ensure that my wife gets to work in SA?

Thanks for all your replies in advance.
    Regards,
    Dipankar

so would it b a problem as the confirmations of skills written report says 4.9 years of work experience, where as i also took a work experience letter frm my employer just before 4 days of submitting my csv application at high commisiion office... would it b a problem??? IITPSA only counted my work experience till the date on which they received my application fr confirmation of skills written report, where as i was still working in the same designation n same roles n responsibilities.would it effect my csv??is having a 5 or 5+ years of work experience mandatory fr obtaining a successful csv??? after reading the post of ZimNerd "Critical skills appeal rejected for invalid reason",iam feeling nervous worried n depressed... waiting eagerly fr ur suggetion n reply.. thanks.. have a great day ahead

i got confirmation of skills written report and membership letters in the month of june 2015 to my hand.. whn i opened it, confirmations of skills written reports says " based on my resume/cv, employer letters we consider of 4.9 years of work experience (they only counted my work experience till the date on which they received my application fr confirmation of skills written report, where as i was still working in the same designation n same roles n responsibilities)".! i submitted my csv application at high commission office on june 30th 2015.. by tht time i was working and i crossed 5 years of work experience..also i took a recent experience letter dated on june 26th 2015 stating tht iam still working with them since 2012.. and submitted all these documents at high commission office at new delhi.

I need your advice and assistance.
My husband is in South Africa from 2011, on a work visa. Because he moved to another town and got the other employer, he applied in August 2014 for the second work visas. He received a rejection, I will send you that paper. We do not know what we do next, whether he's trying again or he must leave the country?

    Hi Legal Man,

I have a quota work permit which is expiring on 25th Aug 2014. I have applied for Critical Skill Permit on 3rd July 2014 but the outcome is not yet available as expected.

I want to know do I have to travel back before 25th Aug or I can wait until the outcome. What happens if the outcome is negative. By that time I will surely be overstaying my current permit. My consultant is saying if I get the rejection then I can travel with the rejection letter and I will not be banned...

Need you urgent suggestion in my case.

    Hi Legal Man,

My wife and I received our Relatives Permits from London 2 days ago, which we submitted on June 12th, they even phoned me a week after they had received the application, excellent service, they advised us to visit the Home Affairs in Cape Town to hopefully be repatriated as Permanent Residents as we had lived in S.A. between 1975 - 1990 and had P.R. at that time.

Does this sound hopeful? or should we go through the full Permanent Resident application in Cape Town based on my son living there who is a S.A. Citizen through the new visa centres? My wife is not the biological mother of my son but we have been married for 28 yrs this year (married in S.A.) We should be in the Cape around Mid September.

    Kind Regards, Mike

Hi LegalMan. I just posted on an emergency situation in which my permanent residency visa application was rejected because of my spouse's one-offense driving while intoxicated charge in the U.S. 8 years ago. If I don't successfully appeal I need to leave SA since my spouse would not be able to work here and he makes good money back in the U.S. Any experience with someone in this situation? Many thanks in advance.

hey there, sorry to bother you but I was wandering if you could possibly advise me on the recent topic/thread I created on the SA expat forum; you seem like the most knowledgeable person around here on such issues :)

    Hi LegalMan,
walk714 is here. Is this the right way to PM you?
The agent says, no need to attach CV but we must attach the extension agreement/contract.
It sounds reasonable to me but I need your second opinion. He also highlights me that I myself to go to the interview, unfortunately office hours for the interview open Mondays only (DBN), it would be a long waiting cue...

Whole new system might be caused delay approval, now I got it. but I do not give up and try to obtain approval before the expiry.

    I do appreciate your advice.
    Kind regards,
    walk714
