    Hello ,

I hope and your family are all fine by the grace of God.
The reason I am messaging you is in the hope of getting to know some information about Melbourne since I would be moving with my family (Wife, Myself, daughter aged 6 and son aged 3) godwilling by Jan 2017.
It is going to be a fresh start for me and we do not know of any friends or relatives in Melbourne.

Therefore I was hoping to get some information on where to live (suburbs) and the school system in Melbourne. As we would be very new to Australia, we figure it would be a good choice to settle into an area that has a mixed population and also some indian grocery stores. My initial budget would be a max of 400 AUD/week for perhaps a 2BHK unit.

I am only reaching out to you as there isnt anyone else whom I know in Melbourne.

    Thanks,
    Shahim.

    Hi,

Posting the gist here for quick access..!!

I had applied for ACS for ANZSCO code 261313 - S/w Engineer on 10 May 16 and got the results out today 23 May 16 but the results are disappointing and surprising.

I had submitted all relevant documents as demanded by ACS for all 5 companies but to my surprise they didn't consider my work exp with one of my company for period of 2 yrs and 4 months at all which was extremely relevant to the occupation applied for) - reason saying "Not Assessable due to Insufficient Detail".

Please suggest if I should apply for appeal or review? I am quite sure that documentation is up-to the mark then why didn't they consider it for assessment.

I didn't understand what details are insufficient? I strongly feel there is something wrong with this assessment. If this employment would have been considered I would have got 5 more points.

Fees for appeal and review are same..!!

    Request your suggestions please..!! Thx..!!

    Regards,
    fdesai

    Hi Anj1976,

I saw ur post regarding doc for acs , it's quit elaborative.
I need to show statutory declaration for one employer, but I read somewhere that we have to use stamp paper of 200/- rs for stat declaration. Is it? Or just attested is enough?
What u did in ur case?

    Hi Anj,
I look frwd to Apply for FIBM (149914). I hav 2 ques in Mind which required your kind clarif.
    1. I hav total exp of more then 10 years & that too with same org with MBA as qual. In Outcome letter of vetasses they have only assesed since 2012 to 2014 while the total docs since my joining 2005 was catered to them. In qualification they have mentioned " Field of study business Adminstration is highly relevant"
In employment Assesed I have received Comment " Based on the evidence provided, at least 2 years of employment is assessed as higly relevant to the nomianed occup & completed at an appropriate skill level in the 5 years before the date of applying". Aw outcome is positive weather assesment of these 2 years assessed in assesment would play any role while claiming points on EOI.
    2. My occupation is lying in SA & its under special condition since Oct 14. Weather on 1st July It would open or chances are there that it would remain under special cond.

    Hi anj,

I have almost read your entire thread, and find every single detail very informative. It cleared most of the questions I had in mind.
However, i would like to know if
1.What is the dress code for women for interviews there?
2.Is it better to purchase formal dress for women here or in Oz? Personally, I felt that the fit and models of clothing would vary.
3.If purchasing in India is better, which stores would you recommend?
4.Is it common for Indian women to wear kurtis and leggings for casual outings and work? Just to know the number of indian wear sets that I would have carry, given the 40kg baggage allowance.

Awaiting your response before heading out for shopping :)

    Hi Anj1976,

I have been following your threads for long now, I asked you last about Adelaide and life there but now my occupation shifted from SA to ACT in the new list so I have to go with the new state for my sponsorship. I recently got my required IELTS score and preparing to file SS with ACT. But I am not sure about the employability statement which they ask for as my occupation is more of a profession than a job and there are not much job postings online and people there in this job code also practice privately (Self Employed). How important or formal is this statement as I could not find any job postings online. Can you help, your advice will be highly appreciated in this regard.

Hi, I have read so many replies from your side on different threads. Your knowledge and help is appreciable... I am migrating from India to Australia in Sept'14, I want to know if there is any Information Center for Indians / all immigrants in Australia which has to be contacted after arrival. I want to know about the Legal formalities / documentation that needs to be taken care of as soon as I migrate to Australia. Thanks for your help in advance :)

    Hi Anj,

I would appreciate if you may please help me regarding the below query.

I have attached the following for my employment claims!

    1) Reference Letters
    2) Pay Slips
    3) Relieving Letters
    4) Tax Documents (Form 16's and ITR)
    5) Bank Statement in which Salary got credited.

I was wondering if I am supposed to provide any other evidence, also I want to know what kind of job verification is done for IT professionals, will they call people from whom I have got referral letters, all of them are Vice President Level.

Although I am in good terms with all of them, but the point is they might be busy when they receive the call and may not be able to speak at that time.

I look forward to your advice and suggestions.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

    Hi Anj,
I would like to have an advise from you. I am pregnant of 2 months. My husband is an australian citizen. We are confused to get delivered in australia or in india. We are interested to get it done back in india as we get everyone to help me.
    But I am wondering,
If the baby is born in india, the baby might get citizenship but may not able get baby bonus and benifits are not applicable for the baby.
Please let me know is it true, and which one do you suggest, to get delivered in india or australia.
    Thanks!

    Hi Anj

I am filling my 189 visa application. Currently I am in Australia on TR Visa since two months ago. I am moving to India in 15 days so country is going to change. And expect to be in India when the visa is granted.

I am stuck on the below questions in visa app

How should I answer these questions in visa app

    A. usual country of residence ?

    B. residential address ? (going to change from Australia to India )

    C. previous countries of residence ? ( Australia will become previous country of residence once I get to India )

Can I give 'India' as usual country of residence but then current residential address has to be same as usual country of residence. And my current Address is in Australia.

    Hi Anji,

I have a small Query regarding Child Visa 101.

Myself and my wife were granted PR of Australia in June'13 and we validated it in August'13 by Visiting Australia for a month. Now are we are blessed with a Baby Boy and we are applying for Child Visa 101 from High Risk Country.

    My question is:
    1. Is there any First Entry Validation for Child Visa as well.
    2. If I get mine and my wife's PCC issued in May'14 and we apply for Visa 101 in the same month. And suppose I get my Child Visa grant in April'15/May'15, then how much time they would give me to validate my child visa (i.e. First Entry Date Validation).

    Regards,
    Abrar.

    Hi Anj;
I was wondering if you could shed some light on the state of IT market in Victoria. I have been in SA for two years now and have not got a job in my field(Engineering). Hence I have completed a Cert IV from TAFE (Computer networking) and am thinking about moving to Victoria because the IT market seems way bigger than Adelaide. Any suggestions from you would be great.
    Thanks
    Nicky
