booboo08, actually if you apply and marry before a legally recognized registrar, such as CCC, the office will register your marriage after it witnessed wedding ceremony and signed the proceedings. It will be expected that the colored embossed marriage certificate will be available for collection in the same state you are married at Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara Malaysia within 30 days. If you need it expedited, you can appear in person with all the docs, and collect it early.

At this point, it is worth to request for additional original coloured embossed signed copies (at a nominal fee) for future applications such as Immigration, birth of child etc. An original certificate (copy) is much simpler to be accepted as it is at most official departments whereas a photocopied copy one has to obtain a Commissioner of Oath stamp and signature to certify the latter (and it will cost more in time and ringgit).
