We had 6 powercuts all of them less than one minute but our Sky box hates powercuts and can take up to 10 minutes to recover. Not to mention resetting all the electrical clocks and timers.

Weather forecasts are notoriously unreliable when you live in a country full of mountains. I use the following sites to make up my own mind:

Spain Portugal Satellite Weather Spain & Portugal, Weather Forecast, Rainfall, Sun - Source: SAT24.com (this is for Spain and Portugal)

Morocco SAT24.com, Weather forecast Satellite, Clouds, Sunshine, Temperature in Morocco (same site but covering Morocco and souther Spain)

Meteomalaga - Malaga Weather (tons of useful stuff here including a flight tracker, ship tracker, storm tracker and rain radar)

As many might say, there's no answer to that

We get drops of a second or two several times a day, just enough to knock out the router and the internet radio. But since I invested in emergency lighting last year we haven't had any that lasted more than a few minutes. Murphy's Law?

I can see I need to get a UBS. Are the cheap ones any good? Do you need one per device?

Unusually for us there was a massive Strike of Lightning at around midday and the power went off and stayed off until some time after midnight after we had retired for the night. Thankfully we have a generator so it was all rather fun and a bit of an adventure. I do like a bit of Weather!! All this sun can get a bit boring!

We must be in a protected spot....
As I post this, lightning is flashing, thunder crashing, rain pelting down but we haven't had any power cuts so far.
The only annoying thing is that heavy rain must 'flood' our Sky dish so tv cuts out as it did this morning....just when I wanted to hear my General SEcretary Chris Keates confront Francis Maude over the pensions issue and our members' vote to strike on Wednesday next.
Sod's Law...

Ah well, I come from an ancient lineage of Dorset peasants....
My old Gran used to stick her head out of the door, peer intently at the skies from under her hooded eyes, then pronounce: 'Speaks of rain'.
She was nearly always right.

Raining here too, and cold, had the central heating on for the first time since last winter. Waiting for the electricity to pack up - usually if a sparrow farts in Madrid or a cloud appears on the horizon in Malaga then the electricity goes for hours at a time here in Jaen. I've lost count of the times that a canned pulse/morcilla/fatty pork stew has had to be heated up on the top of the log burner as my stove/oven is electric.

People out in droves going to vote.
