Talking please rehome this dog

we've had tons of 'Please rehome my dog' posts on our local facebook group from loads of families returning to the UK now that the scholl year is over........... I felt I had to share this one that I just received by e-mail though......it's a bit different

Free to a Good Home

Our house was broken into last night by two robbers who locked me in the
bathroom, and then proceeded to steal all they could carry. Our watchdog
‘Killer’ did not alert us at all, and for this reason we are giving him away.

We no longer want this dog. We’ve decided on installing an electric fence
and detection devices with alarms. They're cheaper to maintain and definitely
more reliable.

For those interested in adopting this dog, please send an e-mail immediately.

‘Killer’ is fun to hang out with, but otherwise pretty useless.

”A recent photo of ‘Killer’ is included below.”

'Killer' is a Norwegian Beer Hound...
... you can tell he is 100% purebred.

.
It's a joke...

But why can't people take their dogs back to the UK with them?
It's very easy now the rules have changed.
I just don't understand people who leave their dogs and cats as if they're pieces of old furniture. Why get the poor creature in the first place? Would they leave their children behind to save on an air fare?

We had a dog brought into our perrera, almost starved, as skeletal as that dog I found almost two years ago to the day. Hopefully, unlike poor old Lucky, this one will live.

If I could get hold of the *******(s) that left him in that condition...

yes, it is a joke

one reason I can think of that people might not be able to take their pets back is that they could be going into rented accomodation

few rentals in the UK appear to permit pets .............but they do allow children

I'm sure when a lot of these people took on the pets sometimes years before , & some of which might have been rescue pets in the first place - they didn't foresee the circumstances forcing them to leave them behind

Yes, you are right. It's unfair of me to condemn everyone.
I guess that seeing so many dogs dumped in rubbish containers, left to wander without water in this heat...it's coloured my judgment.

I totally understand how you feel, and I'm sure some are leaving dogs when they don't need to - I suppose at least those posting on our fb group are trying to find homes

both our local perreras are currently full

one post on fb was from someone who had found a puppy wandering the streets, took it home & then took it to both of the perreras the next day, only to be turned away

they in fact are leaving for the UK in a week or so, & are frantically looking for a home for the puppy - they can't take it with them
