up to a point, i agree.
but my point would be that a period followed by spaces indicates a new sentence has begun.
if that transition is obvious, then why does a new sentence need a capital letter?

the problem is that two spaces gets shrunk to a tiny space, so spaces have little meaning. (sorry about that.)
so for this post i have put 5 spaces where two should suffice.

just to test a hypothesis.
you see, i'm a four-finger typer, two on each hand, so searching for the shift key is very annoying, and it seems to be a waste of time and effort.
most of the time.

punctuation and proofreading are different animals.
i am fanatical regarding both items.
as Meatloaf said so well, "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad."

however, i firmly believe that any communication must be conveyed in a manner that the intended audience will understand, so i bow to conventional wisdom.

you are right and i am wrong, and i need to say that more than i do.
thanks again.

OK, i just did a preview, and 5 spaces are no better than two. DAMN.
i hate it when my computer is too dumb to keep up.
i guess a hard carriage return will be more prominent in future posts.

sorry, but i just had an uncontrollable impulse to add an idea or two.

atm, my reality, jogged by good words and IDEAS from friends, has jarred my judgement.
in a phrase, IMO, my urge to be verbose has overcome my wish to be pithy.
i'll strive to reverse that trend.

on a lighter note, let me relate something my dad told me when i was still a kid.
do you like radishes?
if you garden, and have radishes, you know they get pithy with age.
dad once asked me, "Do you know why radishes get pithy?"
being a natural-born shmuck, i asked "why"?
"because", he replied, "late at night while we sleep, rabbits sneak into the garden to eat, and when they do, they pith on the radishes."

just thought you ought to know.

Since I can no longer read, lack of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation really confuse the voice feature of my computer, which isn't perfect anyway.
Please, please, please!

RV: We haven't been able to get edgee to even press the shift key, no less punctuate! I suppose the pearls he strews will have to go unread by you. Tell you da' truth, I can read them and still don't know what he is saying sometimes.

Ed: Just bustin' your chops a little, no hard feelings?

You actually received feedback from a number of regular posters. You indicated that you appreciated it and that many of the points were correct but then you continue ...

So??? What's it going to be?? Punctuation? Capitalization? Encapsulation? Focus?

Please, please, please!
RVGRINGO, my apologies.

i must admit not much consideration has been given to situations such as yours.
it is the kind of thing that gets crowded out of my short term memory.

please give me some feedback.
i'm sure acronyms give you fits, so i will cut back on the shorthand.

but please tell me your software recognizes periods,
and starting every sentence with a capital letter is not needed?

please!

and also, how does it handle emoticons, if at all?

Please see my post above. Edgeee - you have had feedback from long time regulars.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest ..... (What, the feedback is worthless? If so, what can we say?)

Oh Edgeee.....

This is most likely known around Mexico..ja. but there is a simple explanation why the Mayan calendar ends in 2012!

Not because the supers will re- appear from space in 2012, but because the Mayan calender is round, and starts from the outside in!

Yup, they just ran out of space when they got to the center!

A new maya calendar might be found starting with 2013, someday, but some old timer a very long time ago found it.....

And used it as a replacement wheel for his buro cart!

Now, that is more likely than alien returning in 2012, as time is getting late, only a few months left for them
to come!

But I did see in my life 2 UFO's. One a few military planes was in the chase, doing a cat and mouse thing before it zipped back into space in Arazona! The other landed at a military base down south!

Oh well, back to MEXICO.

DD

Dude - Just use the darn SHIFT key and those three funny keys under your right hand, you know the ones between the "M" key and the newly discovered SHIFT key?
