Looking for Marriage Agency........

Hello,

I am looking for a Marriage Agency in Japan that introduces Western Men to Japanese ladies. I found this on the website: Dandies International/matchmaking. He is expensive but I am willing to pay for it if the service is good.

Does anyone have any experience with Dandies International? And do you have any recomendations or experiences with any other Matchmaking service in Japan?

My recommendation would be to steer clear altogether. It has been my experience that Japanese women are, in general, under more pressure to marry by a certain age than Western women and, while there may well be a few who employ a dating service because they're too busy or too shy, the majority are there because they can't find a suitable mate by other means. When you factor in the fact that Japanese families still practice arranged marriages, the fact that a woman can't find a mate without paying for the service, to me, just seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

That may not be as big a deal in Japanese-Japanese marriages, since it's not all that unusual to see couples who are only together because their respective parents' thought the match was a good one. But when you get into the realm of Japanese vs Western matching -- watch out. If the Japanese men steer clear of a particular woman, how do you (as an outsider) expect to be able to make the relationship work?

If you're already in Japan, start getting out more. If not, find a local organization where Japanese women usually hang out. Take a Japanese course -- I was surprised to discover how many Japanese women who taught at my school had come to the US to find a Western man and ended up teaching Japanese to pay the bills. Better yet, find a way to relocate to Japan for a few years and meet women through work, hobbies, clubs, etc.

Just steer clear of those matchmaking agencies if you value your sanity ...
