Smile Looking for an American cook

Hi everyone. I'm Italian and I'm looking for someone who has experience as a cook in traditional American food (hamburgers, tex-mex, etc). I live in Reggio Emilia (Northeastern medium city, between Modena and Parma). I can help with visa, accomodation, etc. Better if you want to do a business partnership. My idea is to create a sort of traditional "drive in" since people here likes American food a lot.
Send me an email.
Regards

Default Good Cook

Hi,
I am looking for a great American cook, also (while eating out). Before I retired I traveled all around the US and was surprised when I occasionally ate a great meal (very seldom). So many eating establishments open and because they need a complete menu they add all kinds of "medicore stuff".
If you get any offers, ask them to describe a great hamburger, a great hot dog, etc.
I will never forget when I walked in a new hot dog place locally. I spoke with the young owner and he was talking about his plans for more shops. I ordered a chili dog. Yawk. The worst thing I ever ate. The chili was like (hard to image) a thick tomato soup). I was thinking I would get a great hot dog like I experienced once in Detroit, or a great one in a dive in Kansas City. But this HOT DOGer cared more about his plans than his food.
If you ever get your cook and shop, let me know. I will fly over (at no cost to you, obviously) and sample and critique the food.
Bob

Hello,
My husband and I are very interested. He is currently an accomplished chef at a country club in Colorado, USA, is ACF trained, and 31 years old. He is experienced in preparing traditional American food and would like to one day be a part of a diner/drive-in concept with American comfort food. I have also worked front-of-house in restaurants for a number of years. I spent time studying abroad in Ferrara, fell in love with Italy (as did my husband), and would like to find a job and move back there. I'm not sure if you're actually looking for someone in America to move there and assist you with this but please let me know if you would like more information about my husband and me.
Thank you,
Jessica

Hi,
I am an American guy who bought a place in Abruzzo, Ofena to be exact. I am loving Italy, presently in America with my house going through a restoration in Italy. Although not classically trained, I know my way around a kitchen. I am curious as my employment in America is coming to and of it's cycle and I am looking for a new adventure. I have a had a job offer in Italy, but the pay is not like here in America. A business might offer a better opportunity. If you would like to contact me you can do so at yobhip@verizon.net.
Best regards,
Bruce

Default Drive In Idea sounds great

Hello,
I am interested in your idea....
My husband and I are living in Italy for the year....2009....we live just outside of Todi....just south of Perugia in the Umbrian Region...I'm going to look up your area to see how far away you are...

We have our Permesso di Sigiorno for 1 year....

I turned 40 this year and my husband turned 60...so we have decided to take a year off from our lives and explore Italy and Europe. We have been here since January 1st....

I am looking for something to do in my next era of my life....that is what this year is for...to see what we want to do for the next 10 years......my husband is retired...so really it's my self-exploration year....but anway...

Would love to chat more...have been looking for ideas for a business and a way to stay in Italy or Europe longer......just kicking some things around...but would love to hear what you are thinking and see if whap happens...

Take care...and I have often said that a "Subway Sandwich" would make a killing here....if it was open all day like it normally is...I would kill for a sandwich right now...or you are right..what I wouldn't give for a fountain drink of soda with crushed ice....that is what I miss most from the U.S...and that is ice! A good ol' greasy burger would be heaven as well....

Look forward to talking with you...I am very interested in what you are thinking!

I have a blog on my website...kind of chronically our journey here this year...if you want to check out the blog...our website is Welcome to Bayside Properties!

Ciao!

LaDonna

Hi Breizh!
My name is Tara and I'm a native from California, USA. I am currently looking to move to the Reggio Emilia area and was interested in starting up a business similar to yours. I would love to communicate with you regarding a possible business partnership and to hear what you have in mind. Also, I am knowledgeable and experienced on American cooking, although not formally trained. I look forward to hearing from you.
Take care,
Tara

Default American cook

Hi Briezh, not sure if you are still looking, but we are so interersted in your proposition. My husband and I own a restaurant here in the US and, but are wishing to move to Italy. We love to cook, as that is what we do for a living, and already have the business knowledge. Let us know if you are still looking,
thanks for your time,
Megan Hastings
