Moving from South Africa to UAE

Hi all. I am moving to Dubai from South Africa. My husband will be landing on the 20th of September, and I'll follow on the 12th of October. I am currently in the process of finding a flat, and it is a daunting experience. I am shocked at the prices! Can anyone suggest good areas to live in? I've been looking at the Jumeirah and Marina areas, as this looks like it would suit my needs. My next step would be finding cars. One AWD, and a little car for me. Price range is about 60K each. Please give me advice!!!! I am having sleepless nights about this.

Welcome to the forum.

Have you seen the UAE / Dubai section of this forum? You'll probably get a better response there for your questions than the Introduction section.

Hi Ange

Im also on my way to DBX in late October. This forum has all the answers you are looking for just do a search for it. Building finishes in Dubai are terrible don't expect same quality as home. Prices are horrendous and climbing. Pull up google dot ae and do your search and you will get the results you need. A book called Dubai Explorer is used as the expats moving bible
