Default Possible retirement in Australia

Probably my situation may be a bit unique. My husband was the son of a WWII War Bride, and thus he is a citizen even though he has lived in the US since he was 6. He was born in Australia. I still have a few more years to work, and he is retired. So the big question is how we would adjust socially and financially. We don't have any family to miss in the US, and he has family in Australia. I'm sure there would be challenges to relocating, however we are thinking not as many challenges as continuing to live in the US among Medicare reform and our other problems. Not saying the grass is always greener, but a simpler landscape might be easier to navigate. Comments?
