There is no doubt you can enjoy life in the USA ... especially the climate ... as we do here in the South. Property is relatively inexpensive and the cost of living great and as for petrol !!!

Martin - the rules for B1/B2 have changed. You may find, depending on the Officer at the Border, that they will only allow you 3 months with B1. They have incredible power. At the same time B2 gets you 6 months normally without a problem. Crossing the Border can be a lottery too.

Another thought for any likely movers across the 'pond'. Check out health care. You may think taxes in the Uk are bad - try healthcare costs here. Those is worthy of very close scrutiny especially as you get older .

This thread is badly titled -- it should come with a government health warning and contain the words Visa Insanity.

Transfer from a B2 to (presumably) an E2 is a recipe for disaster, especially if processing out of London. It'll all end in tears.
