Smile i'm a newbie

hi everyone, i am looking to move away from the UK and liked the look of Canada or Australia, online visa assessments told me i was ineligiable to move to either of these countries as i am 33 (too old for temp working visa) and work in retail (unskilled occupation) with no immediate family in either country. Is there any hope for me? i heard i can get an employer sponsered visa if i secure a job in my country of choice first or a student visa if i study a trade and work part time? I have lots of friends in Australia already but still like the idea of Canada, what advice do people have for me? Would i be ok moving to another country alone? Any input appreciated thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Some countries are much easier to secure visas, such as where we are in Argentina, but Australia and Canada are probably two of the most difficult if you have not got the skills and qualifications to meet their criteria.

Your best bet is to post on the Australian and Canadian country forums and see what advice people can give you.

Good luck

Michelle

Hi LaineyB,

For Australia there is the skilled independent visas which depends on your profession but you can apply up to 45, or as you mention there are sponsored visas which again depend on whether your profession is in demand.

If you pop over to the Australian country forum there is loads of information there.

Regards,
Karen

Yes, it is very hard to get the visa here for unskilled workers. The only thing I can think of, is if you can get someone to sponsor you as a caregiver. You can get a secure working visa and allowed to stay in the country and eventually can get a permanent residence in 3 years. Please check on the Canadian Immigration.

Goodluck!

Divastarz, what do you mean by coming in as a caregiver? Can you provide more details of that?
Thanks!

Hi!
What I mean is if you can find someone to sponsor you as a nanny so you can look after their kids or you can take care of an elderly. Depending on the processing. Sometimes it can take up to 1 year or more. Please the link below... Canadian Immigration website.
