moving to brisbane hopefully!!!

Hey everyone! my dh and 2children madison 4 and harrison 11months are hoping to move to brisbane all being well! We have only just started to look into going and have really no clue on whats what

i could do with some advice on VISA'S!! i have no idea where i need to start to get one and how much it costs to get one and where i need to start the application off to?!?!? any help on that would be great!! Also i f anyone has any info on the surrounding areas of brisbane which are good places to live where its good for families that would also help. thank you so much! and thank god i found this site!!!!!

Welcome to the forum! Your first move should be to check the Australian government´s immigration website. In addition to detailing the different types of visas, there is an assessment tool to help you figure out how many points you have toward qualifying to immigrate.

Hi thanks for replying, i have been to that web site and have recieved my points which has said that i pass!!! thats got to be a good start eh?! just booking to go to the edingburgh expo too in feb so that should be good to go get some more info. are you already in oz?

Don't forget to check out the Australian Forum (under the country section) since there is more info there on the sticky posts and also more people who are all moving to Australia.

I moved over to Australia in July 2007 - just over 6 months ago!

Hi, i'm still trying to get used to the site but am getting there. i must confess i was a sneaking into the forums before i signed up and read quite a few of your threads! you know your stuff!! you must be loving it there now then?

Yep we really are. It took a little while to get out and start meeting people but we now go to Rotary, Toastmasters etc. and we are getting to know people.
