Hi there!

Hope 2008 is treating you all well.

I'm Irish and am considering a move to Amsterdam with work.

So if anyone has hints or tips I'd love to hear from you!

Hiya,

welcome to the forum! I'm an international, moved all over the place, but I am originally dutch and living in The Hague at the moment, so if I can answer any questions you've got i'd be happy to help! I dunno how much you know about Amsterdam already, but I guess the first things to realize is that it's an amazing city with lots of freedom, but the housing prices are INSANE (highest in the Netherlands by far). Other than that you'll find everything you think you might ever need, and there's no real reason to learn dutch other than if you might want to...
