Default Malta

Hello to all expats and other readers.
We live in the Netherlands at the moment but are looking for an opportunity to spend some time in Malta to see a bit of sun for a change. We would hope to be able to generate some kind of income. So if anyone knows of any openings please let us know. We would also love to hear from any expats living in Malta.

Jordan

Hi Jordan,

Welcome to the forum.

What sort of openings are you looking for?
Jobs, business?

I'm part of an online business that you can run from anywhere you have internet access but I'm not sure if that is something that would interest you? If it is let me know and I'll send you a private message with more details.

Regards,
Karen

I have been to Malta on 'half work and play'. The place is 'dead' during lunch hours and also after 7pm except for night spots, discos, bars, and eateries. It is primarily a Christian/Catholic country, and there are also a handful of Egyptian people and other European and middle eastern expats working there (Egyptians don't like to be referred as Egyptian, they prefer to be known as Arabians).

Perhaps it's best to check with the Netherlands Embassy in Malta, via their site contact form, if there's any possible job openings or business opportunities and they may match you up. Who knows?

It may be "an extreme choice" for information but you will be referred to the right people for your purpose if you do get any help from them.

Do find out as much as you can about Malta's culture, market demands and see if you have what it takes to make more income there. It would help. Good luck!

Don't overlook the EURES network when job hunting anywhere within the EU. EURES is a program of the EU and has information about working conditions, and some job postings on their website.

Go to the EU website portal (europa.eu ) and then choose your language. On the first page to get, over on the left, choose the link for "Living in the EU : working" to get to the EURES page in the language of your choice.
Cheers,
Bev

Thanks Myqute; I've contacted our embassy there but they have not replied yet.

Default hmmm....

It may take some time. Try to address any emails by name if you can get the name of the officer. Meanwhile the employment agencies who specialise in head-hunting may be able to help you. Good luck!

Default Thanks Bev

Thank you for your advice Bev. I put in all my data in the EURES databank and will have to wait now. Hope someone will find us and give us a job.
Otherwise we'll have to do something ourselves i.e. I am a football trainer/coach, tennis trainer, swimming instructor, athletics instructor, masseur, reiki specialist, reflexologist, teacher PE.
Again thanks

Ben
