Default Kevin MILES

I am currently a married Police Officer serving in the English force with 6yrs frontline Policing experience in a busy City Centre Station. I am 44yrs old, own my own house with my wife Michelle and am currently looking to apply to the Canadian Police Force with a view to Emmigrating there. I am at the very early stages, as in, I am about to complete the relevant application and keen to know anything worth knowing about the positives and negatives with regard to moving to Canada, and the nature of Policing over there.
A colleague is about to move and take a position in the Calgary Force and I was considering applying to the same force but have heard that it may not be the best area. Could anyone out there comment on the area, the force and how Brits transferring are received over there.
Are there any age restrictions for transferring. Has anyone recently transferred who can comment on the main things to consider and that need to be covered when emmigrating to Canada, EG. Costs, taxes, housing and jobs for the Misses!!!!!!!!
What areas would be good to live in and commutable within the Calgary Force.

Welcome Kevin.

If you haven't already you may want to post in the Canada forum (under country section) since you may get a better response there.

Regards,
Karen
