Smile thinking of emigrating

Hi there, i live in lincolnshire and previously to that cambridgeshire - small world - and we are thinking of relocating to melbourne australia. just starting the process, did you do it yourself or use a migration company and how long did it take you. we are certainly ready in mind to leave this country and start a new life for our 3 children. any help would be appreciated.
thanks

hi there,
It sure is a small world, we went to the Australian Expo in March last year at the Ibbis Hotel in London. We were fortunate enough to be offered a sponsorship with a construction company as my husband is a commercial manager.
The whole process took 6 months, but that was because the company did basically everything .
Do not know much about Melbourne but my husband had been 3 times on business and said it looks lovely and sometimes you could have 4 seasons of weather in one day so itll be different to England.
The lifestyle here is great, lovely to be brown. The whole family is more relaxed and the kids love it.It isnt as perfect as they make it on the television but still a lot better then the UK.And personally i'd rather live in the sunshine of Auzz then rain and cold of England.
Good luck with your move, its a great experience.

Julie

hi julie

thanks for that info, i have booked tickets for the expo in april so hope to gain lots more info then. i am a nurse so shouldn't find it difficult getting work. we have family in melbourne and a nursing friend of mine has recently emigrated there too so it would be nice to be near someone you are familiar with i suppose. we have looked at brisbane too as it is slightly cheaper cost of living (apparantly).
again thanks
Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

As you are a nurse you should have no problems in finding a job, hopefully with a sponsorship.Make sure you take plenty of copies of your cv as sometimes they can interview you on the spot through video link but im not saying its definate, but it can happen.Leave your coat in the car as it gets really hot and busy. You can buy drinks and stuff at the bar.

Glad to be of help, good luck with it all.

Julie

Snap, although I was born in the East End of London, I lived all my married life in Redbridge, Essex (25 years).
