Welcome to the forum! I moved your introduction to Introductions, as that seemed like the right place.

But in the IT world, they aren't unnecessary, they are the names of products and technical terms. No one really knows or cares what SAP stands for, they just know the product/company by that name. If it were spelled out, it would actually be meaninless or at least confusing. Sort of like spelling out a.m. and p.m.

Nice way of putting me in my place Synthia , thanks , not being into IT it just seemed like the old way of abbreviating to save space and time , so many short cuts because of poor spelling etc , it is hard to tell the difference . Cuz , taint , twernt , more like a foriegn lingo , i read that as long as the first and last letters were correct with the correct ones in any order in the middle , we tend to read them as correct any way without even realizing we have done so , but i learned something new today , IT , mmmmm .Colin
