Craig23 is on a distinguished road

Default Hi, A couple of questions.

Hi All,

My names Craig and Ive decided that I would like to move to Spain and start again really, Im 23 so have nothing to tie me down as such.

I have booked a flight to come over at the end of the month and have a look round see what I can find. (Living and work)

I have applied for a few jobs etc and am waiting to here back, I dont really mind what I do.

Are there such places as expat houses where people rent out rooms?

Are there any bar work jobs and that sort of thing around?

Im looking in the Alicante area but dont seem to be having much luck really,

Any help would be much apreciated.

Craig

As I said elsewhere, err on the side of caution on this site as (speaking for the Spanish section) it is giving incorrect information on basic subjects

Same applies to the French section, too.

Also applies to the Cyprus section.
I would recommend people dont bother with that site at all if it cant get things right.
There are plenty of places where you can find accurate information.

Where are you moving from? If you aren't an EU citizen, you will probably find it difficult to just move to any EU country.

Are you stating that a lot of the info on these forums might be, ohhh, say, laced with MALARKEY?

I'm interested in finding out what country might still take in Americans as citizens, especially countries that might allow dual citizenship (Theirs and America's.)

Any ideas where to search (on the internet) for correct info?

Thanks much
FFC

Hi FFC. I responded to your other message over in the other thread about taking of nationality vs. just getting an immigrant visa.

What Veronica and some of us were commenting on was a specific website that purports to give immigration information for a whole range of countries. Your best source for the details about visas and nationality is generally the website of the consulate for the country you are considering in the country in which you are currently resident.

Here on this forum, we have lots of folks who have gone through the visa and (sometimes) naturalization process at different points in time. But like in the US, the laws are constantly changing and what I went through to get my French nationality may not (jeez, I sure hope not) be the case for someone starting the process today.

Oh, and by the way, even the country's own consulate sometimes gives out incorrect information or advice. (As I found out the hard way.) Such are the ways of governments these days.
Cheers,
Bev
