Default CROATIA- If you've retired on the Coast PLEASE reply!!! please!

I'm not alone in wishing an virtual encounter with expat(s) living in Croatia. Preferably someone retired in Dalmatia, people who don't base their accounts on hypotheses and impressions (like I do, because I just visited the Coast a few years ago) but rather speak from experience and from currently living there.

I'm a Canadian solo lady with a low pension for income (have EU citizenship too) speak no Croatian, love beaches but also some community life (or I'll die of hermitage). I'll try to supplement with some activity even if it has to be babysitting.

Let's be pragmatic and objective:

1. How many US dollars would I pay monthly for a furnished room in a home? Or renting a studio apt in some village on the coast, near Split, or inside Split (perhaps less boring in the long run), or a similar place.

2. How much for groceries weekly (1 person, veggies & fruits).

3. Cost of transpo by bus? a return trip to zagreb?

4. How cold in F. or C. does it get in winter months?

5. What is their retirement visa?

6. Are the Anglo expats established there, the welcoming type and a source of social contact for non-croatian speakers like myself? Or would I die of permanent/infinite silence?

I hope you're generous and understanding and I look forward to your great help! Please answer all questions.
I know you'll be doing several members a favour. My deepest thanks in advance!
