Hello current and former expats

The expatriate assignment is one that is commonly poorly managed and is not done with care to influence the expat to be motivated to successfully complete the mission. Further, a long-term assignment can create uncertainty for an expat, as they do not know if they will return to the same position, and on some occasions is forced into a situation where they must accept something "further down the trough" in the organization.

I am curious to find out from you what your organization has done to influence your motivation to perform satisfaction in your mission? Are there any technological communication tools which your organization utilizes with material effect on your engagement? Also, what do they do that makes you feel disengaged? Any suggestions for future missions?
