Default How much do you travel?

One of the things we are considering, besides going to the Canaries for several months, is going traveling. I think we bought into the idea that since we were retired we had to have a 'retirement home'. Now that we have done that, the idea of a couple of wheeled suitcases and no plans appeals to us. In the interim, we are going to Ireland for a couple of weeks, and may try just doing more traveling while we are here.

Do most of you pretty much stay in one place, or do you travel a lot? I realize many of you are working and have limited time, but how often do you manage to get away?

I'm in Australia on a fairly short term project, and I've been considering taking a big trip at the end of my assignment. For now, I'm finally branching out from Sydney, and spent a weekend in the Blue Mountains.

Atlast, A couple of months in the Canaries? Man are you going to walk all around those islands. Hate to tell you this but they are not that big. Ever thought of Mexico?

We're retired and just planning to sit around and not do much in a different place from where we aren't doing much now. Mexico was on our list for a while, but since it was fairly easy for us to come to Spain, we decided to come here. We're just thinking of it as a look at another part of Spain.

I travel very often. Even when I do not plan on traveling, I end up getting antsy and decide to travel. I guess I just like to live on the move.

I used to travel all the time. I'm sort of the opposite of atlast, since instead of looking for a retirement 'home', I put my possessions into a storage locker set off to see more of the world. Now I've just spent a year hanging out in a couple of places, and I liked it. So the current plan is to travel a lot! I think I'll go to Mexico and Panama to scout out possible retirement homes.
