Hi All
It is rumoured in some quarters at home that it is now better to exchange your pounds in the U.K, as you are getting a better exchange rate than in Spain. I have never found this to be true, however given the current problems with the value of the pound can anyone give me the benifit of their experience please

Im not sure what you mean.
In general its better to either change them through a reciprocal UK/Spanish bank such as halifax, or use one of the commercial money changers such as ITT Moneycorp or HIFX. For smaller amounts Sun-pay

Changing at "thomas Cook" or as a one off at the bank is always going to be a worse rate

Its more for people who have homes abroad, and a € bank account.
Sun-Pay - Online Global Money Transfers made Easy

The best "shop" rates I got was from travelex
Travelex United Kingdom - Travel Money Online - Foreign Exchange
You buy online and then collect from the airport

Hi All & Strav,
Thanks for the reply, but I can't explain it any simpler,Are the Exchange rates at Pedro's where you've gone for the last 20 years or so in spain, better than the usual Exchange places in the U.K.
Or put another way whats the exchange rate at the mo in Espana?
