Default Immigration to Kosovo or Albania

Hi all, I'm an American citizen currently attending a large University in the Midwest. I'm planning to immigrate to Kosovo or Albania when I graduate in two semesters to live there permanently and get citizenship. I've been to both places and fell in love with them.

My question is, can I just go over there with my passport as a tourist (no visa is needed to go to either place) and then look for job (then just get an extension when I find one)? Or would I need to get a special visa stating my intention to look for a job and stay permenantly before going over?

Thanks in advance for the answers. Cool website by the way.

You need to contact the consulates from each place to get details. Isn't Kosovo still part of Serbia?

Generally, you are not allowed to work on a tourist visa. Most countries will not issue a work visa unless you can prove you will not be taking employment away from a local. Many times you must have a job and an employer must sponsor you for a visa. Permanent immigration is another issue, as it usually is easier to get the right to work temporarily than to get permanent residency.
