Hi there, I wonder if you could help me. I'm looking into moving to the BVI as a police officer, would you recommend the islands ?

Default Looking for suggestions

I'm a writer, so I can work most anywhere. My wife and I are exploring the idea of living in Europe for a year or two or three. We have two kids, ages 4 and 6. My wife and I have been leaning toward France, but we're open to other ideas. Neither of us speak enough of any European languages to do very much, but we're both fairly good at learning languages and are willing to plunge into learning a new one.

We don't want a very large city, but also not an isolated rural area. Something charming. Good schools for the kids, in the local language. We're from the Pacific Northwest, and a similarly mild climate would be ideal. We would be moving next summer or fall.

We'll be in Switzerland and France next month to scout out some possibilities. Any suggestions for places to consider?

Thanks!

Hi Bobb:I was in Beerwah,Australia back in Nov/Dec.,2000 and I had a great time. The people were real friendly and the climate was fine(a little warm). The closest school would be Brisbane(about 2 hrs. away by rail)but if you don't want send your kids that far away, they could always go online or they could use a two-way radio(CB).In any case Good Luck with your move.I hope you and your family find the right place. I've put a copy of your post over in the France section to see what sort of replies we can get.
Cheers,
