Default Anyone know of countries that grant visas to bf/gf of someone obtaining work visa?

So,

here is the situation. I'm American, I have an Austrian girlfriend.

This long distance thing is getting so hard. We want to be together, but we don't want to rush into a marriage for paperwork.

So we are thinking of going to Asia, or South America, but we are open to basically anywhere. This is because I cant get a work visa in Europe, and she cant get one in the US.

We were thinking of teaching English/German someplace like China, but the timing doesnt work this semester because she cant finish her degree/leave Austria until October, and schools want teachers in September.

So, here is my question:

Do any of you guys know of a country that A) has plentiful TESL jobs and B) offers a visa for non married partners of someone obtaining a work visa. Just something that allows her to be there with me. I guess if there isnt anything long term, maybe someplace that has super easy visa runs would be good too.

OK, and maybe if you cant answer that question, maybe you have some other scheme you could cook up that would allow us to chill together? I wish I could ask George Costanza, but all I have is you all, so please hook me up with some solutions, k? Do it for love guys!!

I am in a similar situation with a Danish man I have been seeing for 5 years now -- we do not wish to rush into marriage just because of paperwork and border control, but I am seeking the easiest way to integrate into the EU, either with or or without marriage involved. Any advice on the general subject here would be much appreciated.

Well, given the last statement, the easiest way is to get married. You can go in either direction (EU or US) that way.

Many countries offer this, but most of the time you have to prove an ongoing relationship (I.e. you have to ALREADY be living together.)

Are you saying that you don't think she can get a job from when she graduates in October until the following September? Maybe not at a traditional school, but there are many other kinds of English teaching jobs. For example in Thailand there is: Ajarn.com | Teaching English in Thailand

In any event, most Asian countries will stamp you in and out continually and it is fairly cheap to make border runs for new visas. You could live like that in many places. For Thailand she should be able to get a "non-O" visa (google it) from the consulate in Hull, England quite easily, which would allow 90 day stays. Every 90 days, you go to one of the bordering countries and get a new stamp. The cost is not prohibitive.

Good luck.
