Default What surprised you the most?

What surprised you the most when you moved? Did something totally blindside you?

For me it was the driving. I never noticed that I hadn't done any of the driving on our scouting trips. I freaked.

I was surprised how much I missed NPR and the Simpsons.

How different every little thing was. In Japan, even buying something like a pen in a small shop is a cultural experience. A clerk wouldn't just drop the pen in a plastic bag, but carefully wrapped it in paper and taped the package shut.

How absolutely freezing it gets in NSW Australia in the winter!
