Unhappy "Crazy Bird" !

Hi all !
Probably a real crazy question, but I need help with a crazy bird !
Since yesterday I have had a finch fly into my window, over & over again, it just keeps belting itself off my sons bedroom window....he's not there, he's in Spain !
I have no idea as to why it would be doing this and what a mess it's making.....I was awakened by the bloody thing this morning...........I've closed the curtains and it's still doing it ???
Any bird watchers out there that can help me stop this, it's going to kill itself !
Help !
Nance.

P.S , It's the one thing I am terrified of........."birds" !

From what I understand, the poor bird sees his reflection in the window and thinks it's a rival in "his" territory.

Try putting a big cutout of a hawk or something in the window and maybe that will frighten him off. Or anything to cut down on the reflection.
Cheers,
Bev

Thanks Bev, I will give it a try !
Although my windows if i am honest are not clean enough for reflection !
I have just came home from work and it's still doing it.....even while I was outside. Even the dog at the window is not dettering it, so now I have bird poo on the outside and doggy slobers on the inside !
My workmates offered me a shinty stick.......but i just couldn't do that !
Cheers, Nance

Open the window so he can fly inside , after he has a good look around and finds little of value , he will go look some-place else , LOL .
Stick paper on the outside of the window , absolutely no reflection .Colin

Cheers for that Colin !!!
If I let him fly in......I'd be flying out..........Birds are very pretty, but they terrify me when the flap about, I can't cope with that.
Really, any other beastie, snakes, rats, roaches, scorpions anything else i really don't mind at all...but birds , no, Hitchcock made the ultimate horror movie for me ...lol !
But thanks for your input.
Nance.

Sorry to disapoint you Pete !
Day 3 and it's still doing it ..........nothing seems to scare this thing away !
My window is a mess and the RSPB told me to hang string on the outside, which i have(not worked) ! Like Bev they suggested a cut out of a big bird, but I don't have anything like that, and don't know where I would get something like that !
It's fearless ! ! !

Hang a CD there on a cotton thread.
My neighbour does it on their balcony (as they are only there a few months a year) and it keeps the birds away for some reason
