Default Help me Find a Place to Move! Winner gets a Prize!

Hello guys and gals!

First, a little introduction. I'm 19 years old. I look and act as if i'm 23. I recently quit college because I was able to find ways to make money using the internet. Being able to work online through my laptop allows me the luxury to live anywhere in the world. Right now I live in NYC and comfortably - it's still really expensive and it DOES hurt my wallet.

With that in mind, please take these criteria (arranged most important from top to bottom) and help me find a place to move.

1) The American dollar (USD) is strong (e.g. Dominican Republic)

2) The weather is almost ALWAYS good. I'm talking at least 3 out of the 4 seasons with 60-80 degree Farneheit weather (15-26C). Equally as important -it can't be humid because I can't STAND humidity and it takes it's toll on my skin. (e.g. California)

3) It's in or VERY near a city with a high population. I'm a city guy and can appreciate, but don't necessarily enjoy, the simplicity of country life. (e.g. Tokyo)

4) The women are beautiful I'm young, can you blame me? (e.g. Buenos Aires, Barcelona)

The winner gets a prize. I'm taking your posts very seriously because I really am moving somewhere. PLEASE help me.

Thanks so much,
George

That strong American dollar thing is a killer. I'm planning to move to Singapore. You'd hate it. The temperature is always in the low 90's, and once when I was visiting they reported the humidity as 100%! I know it's impossible, but they rounded from 99.7!

OK, aside from the raging jealousy that you can afford this, and concerns that you think the reason for going to college is to make more money not to learn anything, you have done a much better job of asking for advice than I have. I'm looking for a place to retire, but I don't know if anything on my list will work for you, as I tend to like the hot and humid places. But maybe people will make suggestions for you that I will like.

Yes, I would hate that! I've heard Singapore is wonderful but I couldn't stand that humidity.

I tried college and even though I did learn a lot about social interaction and such, I didn't learn anything valuable from the classes I took. I'm much better at teaching myself the things I want to learn because I do still have that yearning. The internet is a great teaching tool!

I hope we both find what we are looking for.

Also I would love to hear about how you are making money online - a topic close to my heart. My ambitions are the same as yours. I use the Internet to generate income so it doesn't matter where I am. However I am 34 years old and I sometimes act like I'm 40+...

Enjoy your stay here...

Thanks a lot. The prize is a minimum, page long postcard, sent to whoever helps direct me in my path.

I initially started an e-commerce site which has done me wonders. I am moving on to content based sites like the one you have here and making money through Adsense.

Hi Fut,
Great post and indeed a great prize!!!
Have you thought of moving to the Sea of Tranquility or neighbouring areas?
The American currency is still quite strong there and one can pick up a 3 bed semi for about 30,000 Luna dollars.

With regards to Humidity......No probs!!! ...........You'll love it!!!

Although the nearest main city is 238,857 miles (384,392 kilometers) away
The women there are out of this world and make up for it!!!

In all honesty I am not to sure about the effect on your young skin, but hey!
you cant have everything!!!

Hi Fut,

Way to ask for the information you want and so far it seems like you have had a pretty good response from the community.

The order you have requested is a tough one to fill, and almost seems like if a place like what you are describing did exist everyone and their dog would move there. The place that seems the best fit from my perspective would be Cape Town in South Africa, although it has the potential to be pretty dangerous at times.

Hope you find what you are looking for and we look forward to further involvement in this forum as you choose your direction.

All the best,

Michael

All the places I think of are retirement communities, which may not be what you want at all. We considered looking in Mexico, outside Guadalajara, but changed our minds because we decided we wanted to be in Europe. I think the town was Chapala? Chapata? The weather sounded good, but I'm not sure the retired are the kind of expats you want.

Buenos Aires?
