Default Scariest Places to Live

I thought while everyone is looking for places to move to or would like to share recommendations. Are there any places that you would avoid at all costs?

The first places that come to my mind would be Iraq, Afghanistan, Chad, Columbia, Somalia and similar locals.

The question I have is am I miss-guided in my list and/or are there any other hot spots that should be added?

Michael

Haiti. I prefer countries that actually have governments.

Zimbabwe. They may have a government but it doesn't appear to be functioning.

I am from Zimbabwe and go home to vsisit for about 3months every year, and so long as you stay non political, there is no problems at all. Zimbabwe is a paradise if you have money and a hell hole if you don't. If you have foreign money you live like a king.

Palestine - the Gaza strip - I'm not sure I'd even go to Israel.

I'm about to make a visa run into Thailand, and I have to go to Hat Yai. I'm a little nervous about it. Someone at my guesthouse quit his teaching job and is moving because one of the recent, seeminy weekly, bombings was only two blocks from his house. All I'll do is take a bus up, cross the border, ride on to the bus station, then get on a bus back to Malaysia. There had been bombings when I came through before, and I wasn't worried. The odds are so slim. But now that I've met someone who was affected, it seems different.

I just reread Bill Bryson's book 'Down Under'. He writes a lot about the creepy crawlies and the crocs. It's enough to make me think that OZ is one of the scariest places to live!
