Hello everyone,

I have been invited to a bear fight this weekend, but am uncertain whether to attend.
I have never been to one before, and have heard some quite horrible things about them, such as hard wooden seating, Lack of refreshments, restricted viewing etc etc..
My question is..... If I do end up going to it, are there any tips anyone can give me regarding which Bear to bet on?

Totally agree with you...... But luckily we have been given free tickets.

If someone even suggested I attend such a horrible thing......I would be charged with assault !
Bullfighting too ! .......I understand that one .... to an extent, it's part of Spanish culture, which i appreciate ! and i do believe these bulls actually live a better and longer life than the steak on your plate, but still I would never go to one, even for free !

I have been told that it does not hurt the bears and in fact they enjoy it!

I also heard once that getting bears to dance is a form of cruelty....but I've seen one dancing for about 6 hrs and he looked like he was having a whale of a time!
Surely he would not have continued dancing if he was unhappy about it?

I think you have to regard some of what RB says .... nay .... all of what he says with tongue in cheek

Your best bet is to take a nice cushion to sit on, some snacks and cold drinks and just pick the bear with the best form.

I currently have my money on 2 of them.

The first one is an out of towner called Rupert... in all honesty he looks a bit feminine (honey couldn't melt in his mouth) but looks can be deceiving!

The second one is a Peruvian called Padddington. Looks a bit of boy...I mean bear.... and looks like he can go some.

Dont listen to Hurricane, he's lost huge amounts of money betting on bears. Personally I'd be putting my dosh on the Care Bears as they can be hard to beat when they combine forces.
