Just a quick one to tell you about a scam that is being done by H&G Property Developers which unfortunately we have fallen for
For some time we have been looking for a small cottage in the Black Forrest (Germany) where we could take summer Breaks, and maybe even had retired to come our time. We felt delighted when we thought we had secured the property of our dreams just outside Baden Baden, and looked forward to spending what would have been our first Christmas in our new property.
The property itself looked out of this world.... Believe me ... we could not have asked for anything more beautiful. Set just off a beaten trail, amongst the trees, beside a small lake..... Magnificent!
The trouble started when we found we had birds nesting in the eaves of the cottage behind the facias.... we called a local builder who recommended we remove a few feather boards to find out the extent of the damage and also to seal any entry points.
Imagine to our horror after removing just a few pieces of timber.... we discovered that the house is actually made of Ginger Bread!
It appears that this H&G Property Developers have been doing this all over Germany for years. The insurance company does not want to know, and it looks like we may have lost our money!
