Its not a daft question. BBcode stands for bulletin board code and can be used in the message reply editor to do certain things. For example there is a bbcode to write quotes within a post - if you want to quote something another member has written.

This bbcode is written link [ quote ] this is my quote [ / quote ] and it will look like this when you post your reply.

Here is a list of more bbcodes you can use on the forum.

A quick way to use a bbcode rather than typing it out is to use the icons in the message editor panes.
