Default Public Primary Schools infrastructure?

Hello again.

Myself and my wife lived in Sacramento, California and the public primary schools there have good or bad infrastructures. We do know that it depends on the area that ones lives. So, I wanted to know from some of you that may have children or lived in different cities the following:

Which towns, cities or Provinces have the best public school infrastructure that you know of? For example, Gym, Soccer field, cafeteria, libraries and such.

Thanks

Alx

Primary schools in France are organized by town - and there are something like 35,000 towns in France - so evaluating the infrastructure is going to prove quite a task.

You may find some useful information in this report on the French schools.

Primary schools normally don't have lots of "infrastructure" - more like a playground. Depending on the town, they may make field trips to the town's library (like in the town next to us), and the cantines are often limited to those with both parents working. Otherwise, the mothers are expected to pick children up at lunchtime to provide them with a proper French lunch (and maybe even a short nap) - as the lunch hours last about 2 hours.

For information on collèges and lycées, you probably should check the websites for individual towns you may be considering - to see what regional schools serve the individual towns. But schools here tend not to feature the sorts of things you're looking for. The French take education very seriously and tend to focus on the academic side of things. Wednesdays (the national day off for schools) is when the kids do extra-curricular types of things (music, sports, etc.) - though there is a move on currently at the lycée level to concentrate academics in the morning classes, with more sports and active stuff during the afternoons.
Cheers,
Bev
