Default Looking for nanny in Marseille

Hello,
I just moved to Marseille and am looking for a nanny to watch my 5 month old for 3 days a week. I also would be interested in "garde partagée". French, English or Portuguese speaking nanny would be fine! If you know of anyone who might be able to help me find someone, please contact me! As a new-comer, I just have no idea where to start looking.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Nannies are kind of a foreign concept for France. What many families do is to engage an au pair - though that means taking a young person into your home. The requirements for the au pair program are quite strict and include allowing the au pair time for taking French and other classes, and limits on how much housework they can do.

You may want to inquire at the mairie about the "halte garderie" facilities where you live.
Cheers,
Bev

Default Maybe I can help you?

Hi there,
I am new to Marseille myself, I have moved from Australia to live here with my partner, and now i have been here for 2 months.
I understand how difficult it can be trying to get your life started in a new city, as I am trying to find my feet here also.
I would be very interested in looking after your child, as I love children.
I live in the 7th Arrondissement, and providing that you live in the surrounding areas, it would be very easy for me to work for you for 3 days a week.
I look forward to hearing from you, perhaps we can meet somewhere to discuss this further?

Regards,
Melisa
