Anyone in Reims?

Hi, I've just moved to Reims from Ireland two months ago. Just wondering if their are any other native English speakers in the area as I am yet to meet any?! Also, does anyone know if there are English groups or organisations I could join?.............

Take a look at the AVF in Reims avf.reims - AVF REIMS

AVF is an association for newcomers to a town or area, and it is open to both French and foreigner newcomers. Either there will be other English speakers in the AVF in Reims, or they should be able to point you in the direction of any English speaking clubs or groups in the area.

AVF is a volunteer run organization, so you may not get an immediate response by e-mail. Try dropping in to one of the "permanences" (details about when and where are on the website) if you don't hear back in a few days.

Hi! I lived in Reims the first 6 months I was in France in 2009 and loved it there. I didn't come across too many other English speakers other than the other foreign students (of which there was a great mix of ages and nationalities) who were studying French with me at the university. We did a lot of things as a group such as hiking the vineyards, day trip to Paris, tour of the cathedral, going to the movies, etc so I never really looked into other groups that may exist. If you contact the university (univ-reims.fr), they may be able to point you in the right direction or have an international social organization open to non-students. Good luck! ~Sally (P.S. I am Aigi, I`m not native English speaker but I do speak English ! I live very close to Reims. I also have not found many English speakers and my French could be better but if you want I would love to meet if you are still in Reims !

I've been living in Reims for one year and I'd be happy to help/guide you as much as needed! There are not so many other native english speakers here, I only know one american/swedish guy.

I arrived in Reims about two weeks ago and I won't start French school until September so I am in search of any social groups (I really don't mind which nationality they are).

Do you know of any? Also if you are still in Reims would you fancy meeting up for a coffee?

Hi guys on this post!

I am moving to Reims in September and will be aupairing until July 2013.

It would be SO nice to meet up with some English people quite soon when I get there. I am 26, and leaving my job as a secretary for one year! Im so worried I wont make friends!

Hopefully you guys will read this. How old are yous, What is your job in France, and can yous speak French? I speak a little. I will surely be starting French school in Sept.
