Default Long term rentals in Chamonix

Hello

My partner and I (and newborn) are considering moving to Chamonix (from Glasgow) around November 08 and are looking for a long term let initially. We are having problems finding an apartment to let ie 6-12 months, as most are per wk/seasonal. Does anyone have advice or contacts? Thank you

What you're running into is that in France 6-12 months isn't considered a "long term" rental. A normal residential lease goes for 3 years - with very specific terms that would allow you to break the lease with proper notice (I think it's two months now) should you need to move due to a job change or transfer.

Then, too, Chamonix is a seasonal holiday spot with lots of per week and seasonal rentals, and probably fewer true "residential" leases available.
Cheers,
Bev
