Without more details it's a bit difficult to tell - but technically, the recipisse for the carte de séjour says that she had applied for a carte de séjour but failed to go in and pick it up. I suppose it depends how long ago the recepisse expired.
Cheers,
Be

On a carte de séjour, you are supposed to notify the préfecture of any change of address. Given that you've been living outside the country for more than a year now, I'd say the carte de séjour and the récipissé are no longer valid. You might want to check with the consulate, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a positive response.
Cheers,
Bev
