Hi,

My Border collie will be accompanying us over to our house (nearly our house!!) in the Creuse (near Saint dizier leyrenne) at the end of July. We will be staying until the end of the summer holidays, say early September. My dilemma is, that he just recently got his 'doggie passport' and although he can come out with us no problem, he cannot 'legally' return until October. Therefore, I want to know if there are any kindly families with dog experience or small kennels that can care for him until our return maybe 4-5 weeks later. The alternative would be to put him in kennels in the uk all the time we are in France but that just seems illogical after going to all the bother and expense of getting him the passport in the first place! Advice please guys!

I would love to help you but I'm too far from you. You can post a message for help on the "Rescue Adoption" forum asking help (making clear you don't want your dog to be adopted ;o) ) It is the largest forum of help for all kind of animals and there must be someone in the Creuse who can help.

MoMo64,

I would check with your local vet first. I have a vet that referred me to several 'recommended' people (she uses them when she needs to travel and leave her dog). The first two are 'private parties' who are willing to take care of their dog without the 'kennel' environment, that is, they will handle the dogs as if they were family. This may be a solution for you.
