Default Mortgage advice?

Hi everyone,

Could anyone recommend a good, English speaking independent mortgage broker? My wife and I are looking to buy in France in the next few months and would like to know what our financial options are.

Many thanks in advance!

Danny

Hi!

If you are not a French resident, it will be not simple to get a French mortgage ( Main reasons, in case of incidents, they have legal problems )

First in France you will require a Life Insurance to cover incidents, or alternatively a security at least in the value of the mortgage. If the security is outside France, it is likely to be refused.

But certainly you should have a shot, and see what a broker will ask for documents.
I know there exists French based Brtish brokers, but have no address.

As regards French broker I can recommend:

Crédit immobilier, Prêt immobilier, Emprunt : comparaison de taux pour financer vos projets

( they have just been taken over by a French bank - so that does give you a certain security in their methods ).

Yours,

giantpanda

PS. Otherwise I a told that the Crédit Agricole has a pretty good English service ( available also in GB ) - although in some matters as an ex-coop bank, which has not finalised its updating to a standard bank, they can be antiquated in their methods.
