Smile Moving to Paris with a child - pack the pram or stroller?

Hi All,

we are leaving for Paris soon with an 18 month old and can't decide whether or not to take the normal size pram we have or to buy a stroller for her before departure, more compact and packs like an umbrella? Our pram however is heavier &the wheels are bigger, therefore the whole thing is more comfortable and easier to push, especially over cobbled streets I would imagine. Has anyone had a similar experience? Would you recommend the stroller or be more comfortable with a standard pram in Europe? thanks all

Ev

I'm no expert on pram vs. stroller, but at least for your time in Paris, be aware that it is probably far easier to get the stroller in and out of public transport (bus, metro) and up and down the many stairs you'll encounter. Many (if not all) cobble stone streets in Paris were paved over after the riots in 1968.

Strollers do seem to be more popular here.
Cheers,
Bev

Hi
Just visited Paris and I would definately reccommend the stroller.
Although the comfort and ease for yourself is an issue, as long as the littlle one's comfy, I'd go with the stroller for transport, doors, etc etc.
Also, definately easier for attractions,batobus,etc.

thanks all. I am leaning towards the stroller. As my daughter gets older, she wants to spend less time in the pram anyway.
