Default Animal Lovers? - Help Required

We are currently living in South Africa and have rescued a beautiful dog from the Animal Welfare as it was about to be put down. However we are returning to the UK next Christmas (2009) and I am already worrying about the 6 month quarantine still required if entering from here. I have been told there are families in France who will 'foster' a dog for the 6 month period which will save her having to spend 6 months in a kennel in the UK (which I'm not sure she would cope with as she has already had a very traumatic start to her life) Unfortunately I have no idea where to start looking for this information and wondered if anyone knew of any people or organisations that could help. I would be really grateful for any advise that you can provide. Many thanks Lynette O'Hara

Hi Lynette

What sort of dog? Is she good with others? We have 7 dogs and - subject to her being good with others - could cope easily with another for 6 months. We are halfway between Chambery and Grenoble

(It might be that getting a 'pet passport' in France for her would cut down on the separation period - and when you get her into the UK it is a straightforward process to get a UK PP.)

Leave me a 'private message' if you want to pursue it.
