Well, I married a French guy - and basically did the paperwork for his company when he set it up. I'm an accountant by trade - and had the same sorts of "vocabulary" problems I'm sure a mechanic would have picking up the lingo for his trade. But the key thing is the language - they really don't cut you any slack at all for being a newcomer.
