Default property in Corsica???

Hi all! we are hoping to move to Corsica later this year but are having trouble finding good estate agents, most seem to be offering newbuild apartments, what we really need is a house with garden/land, possibly a renovation job. Does anyone have experience of buying in Corsica? and what are the different areas like? any tips/info or anything! welcome!
cheers

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid I have no experience with Corsican real estate - but I do know a few folks who have property on the island (mostly inherited, though). It's supposed to be really lovely.

As with many things in France, you may have better luck if you can deal with the estate agents in French.
Cheers,
Bev

Hi!

I do not wish to put you off going to Corsica.

But it is quite a special mentality, and the general climate for French or foreign buyers is not quite what you would call very good, especially considering they in fact they wish to become independant on the condition that France pays yet more for it.

So best check yourself on this and appreciate.

Yours,

giantpanda

Hi-
Did you have any luck finding a place? If so, where? Did you find a sympa estate agent? If so, who?
Google has lots of leads, but nothing beats personal experience!

I have a friend who acquired her new villa in Corsica. At first her choices of location are Corsica and Burgundy but he decided to get the villa in Corsica. I visited the place and saw the property already; it’s a great buy because the location is perfect! Right now I am also planning to get property from them; I have an appointment with them next week and I’m hoping for a positive result.

Could you give a clue, please, who this agent is?
