Default Searching site for new Montessori school around Montpellier

Hello! My husband and I have been trying to stop the expat life (well, I still will be one) and settle in the Montpellier area. I am an AMI Montessori 6-12 teacher and would like to open a bilingual Montessori school. Does anyone have any opinions of attractive towns around Montpellier that have a lot of beautiful green space? Also, if you are interested in the school, feel free to contact me. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Looks like you're coming from Morocco, but I take it your nationality is American? Montpellier is a beautiful area and you should have no problem finding an attractive town nearby. As far as the school is concerned, you may have to wrestle a bit with the French administration, as they do tend to keep a firm hand on all schools, public and private. (On the other hand, private schools in France are eligible for quite a bit of financial support from the State!)

There are a couple of English speaking expat groups in the Montpellier area. You should probably contact them about membership and also to get a feel for what is needed or possible for private schools. The one I know of there is: http:// AWG of Languedoc-Roussillon but there are others, I believe, in the area.
Cheers,
Bev

Thanks so much for your reply. I must say the American guess was easy but I am stumped by how you would know I was coming from Morocco, esp? Thanks again.

You're right - the American part was easy (the grade designation did it!). As to Morocco, I have to confess that the moderators have the ability to "see" your IP address. I just check that out and "voila" I find you're calling in from Morocco. (BTW, I know there are a couple of FAWCO groups - American expat women's clubs - in Morocco. You might want to try and check in with them, as they could give you some information, too.)
Cheers,
Bev
