Default Someone to look after our cat OR house sit.

So we are all set up to visit family, leaving at end of March, and the people who were going to stay in our house cannot make it!
We now need someone to look after our affectionate, clean cat or house sit to look after five chicken and the cat for up to seven weeks. The house is a comfortable new house north of Niort 79, near Secondigny.
Please pass this on if you can think of anyone, thanks.

Try posting a notice at the local Lycee or BIJ for a "willing" teenager who might be interested in a bit of pocket money.

Otherwise ask all the shops where you do your normal trading; they might have offspring or know of someone - & a recommendation/referral is always better than someone out of the blue.

Perhaps you could offer help with English in return for the care of your animals & house, rather than real dosh.

You could have a look at the following website: Gardicanin, garde et promenade de chien et chat en France. Hope you find someone who will look after your cat very well!

Regards
Mikki

I dropped you a line and was wondering have you someone already? We have no commitments for the yearly part of this year and are happy to help you out if your not sorted, i can see others are beiginning to reply...we are a married couple with no children at home we are in our 40s and love animals. You would also have to added security my husband is a qualified carpeter and able to turn his hand to almost anything in the repair dept.

We are thinking of moving to France, we spend time at Tonys mums as she has a home in france also. We are both clean living and would guarantee that your things would be treated with the utmost respect as i would my own.

In helping you we would also be getting the feel of what it would be like to live in France.

I sent you my email and tel number should you still be looking for someone to house and pet sit.

Kind regards
Helen Ley

Dear Helen,

I saw your message about offering to pet and house sit in France and that you wish to move to France. I live in Lyon and have four beautiful Persian cats. I'd love to make contact with you because I might need someone to pet and house sit for me later in the year.

Also, I have moved to Lyon from South Africa in at the end of November 2009. If you have any questions about living here or the process of moving to another country, in particular France, I'd be glad to try and help. The first thing that is important when you are thinking of moving to France is that you must be able to speak French!

With kind regards
Mikki

Hello! I am looking for someone to look after a small menagerie after the easter holidays, for 2 weeks. it wouldn't be living in - the place is in chaos because I am doing it up - but I have a beach apartment on La Grande Plage at Le Barcares, which is 2 mins walk from my place, where the "petsitter" would stay. Animals - I have two cats who are outside nearly all the time but need someone to feed and water them daily: a rabbit in a hutch who needs daily feeding and watering; two cockateils who need daily feeding and watering, and a goldfish who needs his water changed alternate days and daily feeding. It would also be helpful if you made sure the cats didn't get in and eat everyone else while you're not looking! I also have plants which will need watering. In total, it would take about half an hour a day.
If you'd be interested, then please email me on

At the moment in Perpignan.(1

I am in Le Barcares, and desperately need someone to feed my two cats, two birds, rabbit and goldfish from 20th December until 4th January. I can offer the use of a studio apartment, and payment, but the studio is at Coudalere, about 2km from the house where the animals live - it is in mid-renovate, so isn't suitable for anyone to live in. So you would have to travel there every day. Interested? Phone

The problem with that is that you advertise to every random potential burglar that your house is likely to be empty.
