Default Renting or buying in Rennes?

Hi all,

I may have a job opportunity in Rennes and trying to figure out if there are resources available online to search for apartments for rent or other sites to buy places.

I`ve found Leapfrog properties online but wondering if there`s something else i can look into.

Also wondering if there`s a site similar to Mapquest to figure out distances from point to point so I can figure out travel times if I choose to be outside of Rennes.

Thanks in advance.

Carl

Hi, and welcome to the forums!

Sure, there are sources for checking out real estate online in France. Try Century21 Century 21 France - About us - seriously, they are international these days and they post far more stuff online than any other agency I know of. There is also the great, French classic, Particulier à Particulier (person to person) IMMOBILIER DE PARTICULIER A PARTICULIER. Choix entre des milliers d'annonces immobilières de particuliers, location, achat et vente en immobilier | PAP.fr which lists properties not subject to an agency fee. (To rent or buy in France, if you use an agent, you pay a major fee to said agent. You have to be quite careful not to view the same property twice with two different agents - cause if you rent it or buy it, you owe BOTH agency fees!)

For maps, try Mappy Mappy - plans, itinéraires, guide d'adresses en Europe It'll give your French a little workout, but basically is pretty easy to use. There's a Mappy in the UK, too, but if you put in a French address, it'll switch to French on you... or it did last time I tried it.
Cheers,
Bev
