passport prices!!

I need to renew my and my son's British passports. At the Paris embassy I was quoted around250 euros to cover both. I am going to UK for a week in August. Does anyone know a cheaper way to do it?

I suspect that what the Paris embassy quoted you depends on the current exchange rate.

The passport charges in France are a scandal as are many of the services provided for expats abroad.
the premium price for the passports are to support the costs of running the British Consulate (fact).
If you have someone with an address in the UK, post the passports to the UK or find a friend who can take them, and then follow the cheaper routes available in the UK.
Speedferries had a motto 'fight the pirates'. Expats need the same slogan!
