Question Help, i need advice, please....

alright, im not really sure where to post this, but i seriously need advice, i want to get out of the US, as soon as i possibly can, i should have the money within a couple years judging by the expenses i have seen in my research, but i still have no idea where to go. i have been considering France, but as with everyother place i ahve researched, i am having trouble coming up with practical info on how to relocate.

i am looking for a less corrupt government, healthcare (prefferably free), and education (also prefferably free), and sun (not as important), my main concern is getting out of here! i am sure there are considerations i have not even thought of yet, does anyone have any suggestions or info?

My suggestion is stay where you are.

You've not suggested a single reason for coming to France, only for leaving the US. Ergo, you don't really, really, REALLY want to come here, and you'd find it alien, TBH.

Use some of those savings to come here for a 1 or 2-month holiday to see if the reality here is any better for you than what you have at home.

Grass rarely turns out to be greener in someone else's garden, and the weeds grow everywhere.

Hi (again) - you will see my reply to your other post.

Minesthechevy is right - you need to be running TO something rather than AWAY from something. To come to France, you need to prove to the immigration people that you have a reason for wanting to live in France. If you don't have a job lined up, or a job skill in high demand in France it will be very very difficult to get a visa.

And frankly, to get access to the social services (health, education, etc.) you have to be a contributing member of society - which comes right back to having a job where you pay into the social services system and pay taxes (of which there are lots in France). If you don't have the job, you'll be required to provide your own health insurance that is equivalent to the public system (expensive) just to get a visa. Access to the educational system depends on what sort of education or training you're looking for.

Moving overseas is a big decision, and a big personal upheaval. I came to France to marry someone I care about very much, and still I spent the first 7 years wondering if maybe I had made a HUGE mistake coming here at all. France has lots going for it, and now I'm a French citizen and all - but the adjustment can really be hell.
Cheers,
Bev

Another option is to come to France for studies. You will have time to see if you like the place, you will benefit from social security at a fair price, you will pay less school/university fees and you will possibly get a degree. And you might also find that your home is not so bad, other places are just different. HOWEVER keep in mind that to "integrate" in France you will need to speak a decent French and to get a "serrious" degree you will need to write a decent French, which is way harder than speaking... Sorry for the possible "patronizing tone" my intent is only informative I am really not judging you... Good luck!
