Not so new expat but new to the site - Hi

Hi all

I live in the Cevennes about an hour from Nimes and have done so since 2000.

In a moment of madness I bought an enormous house and I've been doing it up pretty much single handedly ever since. I doubt if I'll ever get it finished as it's definitely a Forth Bridge kind of place.

Would love to hear from anyone else in the area or even out of it!

Yeah, it's huge, but I've now got 3 apartments out of it (well, two and a half as I'm still doing up the one I'm in), one that my parents are now in so I've managed to do some good with it.

Unfortunately I've run out of work so it's slowing down. I have the option to go back to Moscow to work, but it's hard there, even though the earning potential is huge, but the outlook on life there is so totally different from the Cevenole outlook.

South from me.....(geography not a strong point)....so you're either in a boat on the Med or in Spain.....

My oldest friend Lives in Mojacar, well, just next to it in El Turre. I've just got back from his wedding in fact.

Yeah, Moscow is cold, but worse than that it is polluted and the snow just becomes black slush that literally eats like acid through anything it touches.

Having said that last week it was colder at night here than in Moscow!

I'm north of Ales, about 45 minutes into the mountains.

I have heard of Britsnimes, but it doesn't seem to be a forum, unless I'm completely mistaken, looks to have only a snail mail address, although I would happy to be corrected!

We are an association of around 330 members based in or around Nimes... some a bit further out. We have all sorts of monthly meetings from restaurant clubs, walking clubs, cultural visits, pub nights and so on....
